Otways Rainforest: Eukalyptus-borke - wenn ich nicht irre Eucalyptus regnans. Bei dieser Art schält sich die Borke in langen zusammenhängenden Fäden die dann wie Lianen aus dem Kronendach oder von Ästen herunterhängen.

penguin traces in the sand!!! The little penguins could not be seen, they only come out in the dark, but we were looking forward to see them at St. Kilda peer the next day. Funny how the traces start at different positions coming from the see, but all converge to a very narrow alley before the disappear in the greenery...

eine weitere Myrmeciinae - etwas kleiner und harmloser diesmal

und noch eine! Diesmal wieder eine große mit schön rostbraun glänzendem Körper. Nicht ganz so groß wie jene, die uns im Bett besucht hatte, aber doch beachtlich, und genauso wie diese optisch sehr gut orientiert.
