coromandel - hot water beach

H: so, what the hell is going on here? There is a  source of hot water that emerges right under the beach and if you dig into the sand, it gets hotter and hotter - I almost burnt my feet. Luckily the waves of the incoming flood provide some cooling and the feeling of hot feet and the cold water swapping on top of them makes every Kneipp Kur seem boring ;)
